SSO’s ninth annual Fellows Institute, cosponsored by the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) and the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrs), will take place November 18-20 in Houston, Texas. This important event consists of both didactic sessions and a hands-on laboratory component.
The Fellows Institute again includes three specialty-specific tracks. Here is an overview:
Breast oncology: This track’s topics will include ultrasound & biopsy, live model scanning, stereotactic, oncoplastic techniques and other innovative techniques.
HPB: This track covers surgery on the liver and pancreas, focusing in tumors and minimally invasive techniques. Hands-on laboratory time will be combined with the surgical oncology track for a comprehensive and collaborative experience.
Surgical oncology: This track includes case-based technical didactics and practical hands-on laboratory skills covering open and minimally invasive colorectal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and adrenal surgery (including robotic surgery), liver ultrasound, isolated limb perfusion and infusion for regional melanoma, sarcoma surgery, and cytoreductive surgery with heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal malignancies.
